[edit] Quick guide

A preliminary version of a quick and visual guide is available here.

[edit] Access

As this wiki will probably contain restricted information, we have made the decision to make it secure. In order to read or edit the contents you will have to mail us and we'll create a user account for you and give the appropriate permissions.

[edit] Using a wiki

Maybe you don't have experience using MediaWikis. A general FAQ is available in Wikimedia site MediaWiki FAQ .

If you just need an easy, quick and visual guide please try our using a wiki, quick version. If you want to learn how to edit pages in a more formal way, please refer to Wikipedia cheat sheet or, if you're feeling studious, MediaWiki official help on reading and MediaWiki official help on editing are your site. Also, simply looking at how people write their edits you can learn a lot of the syntax easily.

[edit] General guidelines

We should try to stick to some guidelines to have our wiki better organized.

  • Please try to add some content to your user page. In this kind of complex projects it is easy to get lost with the great number of people involved. Usually it is a good idea including your photo along with some mail address, because names with faces can be easier to remember. Your personal page is accessed through the link in the upper right side of the wiki, next to a little person icon.
  • Do not mix content and comments. In each page of the wiki there is a 'discussion' tab which allows people to comment on the actual contents of the page. Add your comments in this section, and always sign them adding four consecutive tildes (like ~~~~). Doing this the wiki automatically adds your name and date of your comment, like this:
This is a test comment RSC 10:36, 19 February 2007 (CET)
  • Try to learn some wiki syntax. It's easy, and can be done basically viewing how well-formatted sections are written. This way, the wiki will be more attractive and functional.
  • When you edit something, please add a summary in the text box before saving the page. This way, subsequent changes on a page are easier to follow in the 'history' tab.
  • Try not to be disruptive. Before deleting some comment or radically changing it, propose it in the 'discussion' tab or talk to the original writer.
  • Cross-links are good! There is no problem in linking the wiki pages together, so if you for example are writing about WP2 in its page but are somehow establishing a relation with a scenario in WP1, please add some link to it. This way we'll have easier access to the related content. For example, please try to add all relevant documents to their WP page AND the documents section.
